The tour overview :

Move to Mahabalipuram after sightseeing at Chennai – famous Aurobindo ashram at Pondicherry – the chariot temple at Tanjore – exclusive wildlife of Periyar – Tea plantations of Munnar.

Day 1 - Arrival Chennai - -

  • On arrival Chennai International airport where our company representative meets and greet later you will be transfer to hotel check-in and relax. 

    CHENNAI: Elegantly placed in the shores of Coromandel Coast, is the Capital of Indian State of Tamil Nadu and also the major gateway to South India. It is also the major Commercial, Cultural, Economic and Educational Center in South India. 

    Overnight will be at Chennai.

Day 2 - Chennai-Mahabalipuram-Pondicherry - (By Road: 160 Km. / 4 hrs. ) -

  • Morning after early breakfast proceed for Chennai Sightseeing visit the former British strong hold of Fort St. George and see the world-famous collection at the Government Museum. Witness the vibrant Marina Beach and see the graceful St. Thomas Basilica, built by Portuguese settlers. Also visit the Kapaleeshwara Temple.

    Later drive to Mahabalipuram on reaching there enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram. This lovely seaside capital was the capital of the Pallavas dynasty. You could visit the shore temple, the largest bas-relief in the world called Arjuna`s Penance and the famous and beautiful Five Rathas (Chariots) are what will be most eye-catching. Arjuna`s Penance, a complicated piece of work on a vertical rock is one of the best preserved.

    Continue your drive to Pondicherry....

    French dreams of an Indian Empire began and ended in Pondicherry. But in the scattered territories of the Union Territory of Pondicherry there remains what little there is left of the French influence in India and that makes the territory, especially its headquarters, Pondicherry, unique, something quite different from the rest of India. The Union Territory of Pondicherry comprises of 4 coastal regions viz- Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam . Pondicherry and Karaikal are situated on the East Coasts in Tamil Nadu, Yanam in Andra Pradesh and Mahe on the West Coast in Kerala. Pondicherry is the Capital of this Union Territory.

    Overnight stay will be at Pondicherry. 

Day 3 - Pondicherry - -

  • After breakfast proceed for sightseeing and visit Pondicherry Museum, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Arulmigu Manakula, Vinayagar Temple, Seaside Promenade &  French colonies 

    Sri Aurobindo Ashram founded in 1920, is the residence where the Sri Aurobindo and revered Mother Mirra Richard, popularly known as Maa, spent the most part of their life. This place attracts many thousands of people each year.

    Seaside Promenade One of the things that does justice to Pondicherry's French Roots is its beautiful Seaside Promenade. The area is well maintained, clean and beautiful and you can actually feel foam spray on your face while sipping a cooler in one of the many cafes at the promenade. Whether you're visiting during the sunny day or the starry night, the Seaside Promenade is equally feel good.

    In the evening enjoy on the beach...!!!! 

    Overnight stay will be at Pondicherry. 

Day 4 - Pondicherry-Darasuram-Tanjore - (By Road: 180 Km. / 5 hrs. ) -

  • After an early breakfast drive to Tanjore visiting the temples at Darasuram en-route.

    A `Sculptor`s dream in stone`, musical pillars, Mandapam in the shape of a chariot, a wealth of sculpture and painting are synonymous with Airavateshvara Temple at Darasulam. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a well-preserved example of 12th century Chola architecture.

    Later proceed to Tanjore also called Thanjavur, is a famous temple town, known for a fascinatingly rich cultural heritage, the ancient capital of the Cholas, Thanjavur is dotted with as many as 74 temples and rightly so it`s one of the biggest temple towns of south India. 

    Today you will visit the world famous Brihandeswara Temple (10th century Temple) - dedicated to Lord Shiva with a huge Shiva Lingam and a stone sculpture of the Nandi Bull. The Temple has been included in the UNESCO`s list of World Heritage Monuments.

    Later visit The Palace of Tanjore and the Bronze Museum.

    Overnight stay will be at Tanjore. 

Day 5 - Tanjore - Madurai - (By Road: 200 Km. / 4 hrs. ) -

  • After a breakfast drive to the temple town of Madurai....

    The city of Madurai was originally built in the shape of a lotus flower, centred on the celebrated Sri Meenakshi Temple. The rich cultural heritage and striking architectural leads many Indians to refer to the city as the `Athens of the East`. Most of the most important monuments and buildings in Madurai were built during the reign of Thirumalai Nayak who ruled the region from 1623-1659. His palace, actually designed by an Italian architect, makes for an interesting visit, along with the Puthu Mandapam and Pillared Hall (which now houses a Museum of Temple Art.) The streets and markets around the temple bustle with pilgrims, traders and locals going about their daily business.

    This evening you will enjoy an atmospheric tour of the Meenakshi temple complex.

    Overnight stay will be at Hotel. 

Day 6 - Madurai - Periyar - (By Road: 150 Km. / 4 hrs. ) -

  • Morning after breakfast drive to Periyar...

    You will mainly drive through the plantations of tea and cardamom to reach Periyar The PERIYAR WILD LIFE SANCTUARY at Thekkady is a preserved stretch of dense, evergreen rainforests that strudels the tiny state of Kerala on the south western tip of the Indian peninsula. This is a wildlife sanctuary around an artificial lake at Thekkady high in the Western Ghats. The mountains around the lake covered with dense deciduous forests and grass savannas makes this a picture-perfect destination. Tourists can make boat trips in the lake and watch the wild animals. Elephant, Gaur, Tiger, Panther, Sambar, Barking deer, Wild boar, Sloth bear, Nilgiri langur, Lion-tailed Macaque, Otter, Malabar Giant Squirrel, Wild dog etc are the major mammals here.

    Reach check in hotel and after some relax proceed to visit Spice Garden to learn more about the spices grown in this area you can enjoy a Elephant Safari through the Spice Plantation.

    Overnight stay will be at Periyar.

Day 7 - Periyar - -

  • Morning after breakfast proceeds for Periyar wildlife sanctuary to enjoy the Boat ride this ride is 01:30 / 02:00 hrs. One of the best ways to explore the Periyar Tiger Reserve is by taking a boat ride through the Periyar Lake.

    It offers travelers the opportunity to view the natural beauty of the forest with its tall trees and resident wildlife. The timings are as follows: 7.30am / 9.30am / 11:15am / 1.45pm / 3.30pm...!!!

    Later after lunch experience a 2 Hrs. session of elephant ride giving bathing to  Elephant, Photo, painting.

    Overnight stay will be at Periyar. 

Day 8 - Periyar - Munnar - (By Road: 100 Km. / 3 hrs. ) -

  • Morning after breakfast drive to the tea country of Munnar...

    One of the attractions that contributed to Kerala`s popularity as a travel destination among domestic and foreign travellers. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala, and perched about 1600 m above sea level, the hill station of Munnar once used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in south India.This hill station is marked by vast expanses of tea plantations, colonial bungalows, rivulets, waterfalls and cool weather. It is also an ideal destination for trekking and adventure activities.

    Reach check in and day at leisure to relax at the resort.

    Overnight stay will be at Munnar.

Day 9 - Munnar - -

  • Morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Munnar.

    You could visit the Eravikulam National Park, Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam you will also visit Tea plantations.

    Munnar was the favoured summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience.

    Rest of the day free for your own activities.

    Overnight will be at Munnar. 

Day 10 - Munnar - Alleppey - (By Road: 165 Km. / 3 hrs. ) -

  • After early breakfast proceed for Alleppey 

    By Noon board your Houseboat (01 Bedroom AC Deluxe Houseboat) from the Vembanad House boat jetty for an overnight cruise with on board lunch and dinner, covering the nearby villages and the ethnic life around these villages to Alleppey, through the famous Vembanad Lake.

    This afternoon you`ll enjoy a relaxing cruise through the waterways which gives you an opportunity to observe rural Kerala up close. For the people living on the banks, the backwaters are a part of their day to day life.

    You stop to look at paddy cultivation, watch local fishing, and see historic churches and local temples. During the evening, you can generally see the people of the community meeting and relaxing by the backwaters. Your houseboat will anchor at around 5.30 pm for the night.

    Your Houseboat will have one bedroom with en-suite facilities and exterior space to sit and relax.

    Bedrooms are air-conditioned although this is only usually switched on during the night (9pm to 5am.) Each houseboat has a driver and a cook, who`ll prepare delicious Keralan meals, with some fresh ingredients likely to be purchased during the cruise.

Day 11 - Alleppey - Cochin - (By Road: 60 Km. / 1 hrs. ) -

  • Morning after breakfast you will be dropped at boat jetty later proceed for Cochin.

    COCHIN: The eventful history of this city began when a major flood in AD 1341 threw open the estuary at Kochi, till then a land locked region, turning it into one of the finest natural harbors in the world. Kochi thus became a haven for sea faring visitors from all over the world and became the first European town-ship in India when the Portuguese settled here in the 15th century.

    Upon arrival check in hotel and after some relax proceed to explore the city.....!!! 

    In the evening Kathakali dance performance accompanied by a gong, drums and cymbals, Kathakali performers combine dance and theatre in a ritualistic portrayal of gods and demons. 

    Enjoy the Dressing & Make up (17:00 HRS. / 18:00 HRS.)  followed by Traditional Art Kathakali Dance Show at Fort Cochin ( 18:00 HRS, / 19:00 HRS.)

    Your overnight stay will be in Cochin. 

Day 12 - Cochin - -

  • Morning enjoy a guided tour of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry.

    You`ll explore Mattancherry district and the nearby Jew Town which lie at the heart of Kerala`s spice trade, with innumerable trading posts, storerooms and `godowns` (warehouses). Today many of these buildings have fallen into a very dilapidated state but they remain in daily use with sacks of cardamom, turmeric, ginger and other spices being carried back and forth by cart and by hand.

    Your tour will also include visits to Mattancherry Palace, known locally as the `Dutch Palace` and Pardesi Synagogue.

    Later you`ll take a walking tour of the historic Fort Cochin district. You will visit St. Francis Church, Chinese fishing nets, local fish market, Dutch Cemetery etc.

    Evening enjoy a motorboat sunset cruise through the fishing harbours of Cochin.

    Overnight stay will be at the Cochin.

Day 13 - Cochin - Marraikulam - (By Road: 50 Km. / 1 hrs. ) -

  • Morning after breakfast driver to Mararikulam....!!!! 

    Marari originates from "Mararikulam", one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch.

    An authentic experience of the world of Kerala`s traditional fishing villages, and a recreation of an ancient, harmonious way of life.

    The village of Mararikulam lies on a forgotten shore, midway up the Malabar Coast, where the Indian Ocean finally decides that it has now become the Arabian Sea.

    Reach check in hotel later relax on the beach. 

    Overnight stay will be at Mararikulam.

Day 14 - Mararikulam - -

  • After breakfast full day at leisure by the beach.
     
    Overnight stay will be at Mararikulam.

Day 15 - Mararikulam - Cochin Depart - (By Road: 80 Km. / 2 hrs. ) -

  • Like all good things, your tour in Kerala comes to an end but you will always carry with you memories of this unique and unforgettable holiday experience. 

    Today in time you will be assisted and transferred to Cochin International Airport to connect your flight home / Onward destination with sweet memories of India Tour.
